Cinq Music Group is a a technology-driven record label, distribution, and rights management company headquartered in Los Angeles.

The company’s repertoire has won Grammy awards, dozens of Gold and Platinum RIAA certifications, and numerous No.1 chart positions on a variety of Billboard charts. Its repertoire includes heavyweights such as Bad Bunny, Janet Jackson, Daddy Yankee, T.I., Sean Kingston, Anuel, and hundreds more.

Cinq Music Group is a subsidiary of GoDigital Media Group, which was founded by entrepreneur Jason Peterson.

Peterson co-founded Cinq Music Group with the music company’s President, Barry Daffurn.


Cinq Music Group: fundraising from parent GoDigital

In August 2019, Cinq Music Group announced that it had raised $40m from parent GoDigital Media Group in a Series C funding injection.

That money added to previous raises via GoDigital, including a $20m investment in Cinq announced in summer 2017.


Cinq Music Group: Rights acquisitions

In December 2012, Cinq Music Group announced that it had acquired the master rights to rapper T.I’s catalog.

The catalog covered recordings made by T.I while signed to Warner‘s Atlantic Records.

In September 2020, Cinq announced it had made the biggest acquisition in its history, snapping up the Beluga Heights label, including its rights to Jason Derulo’s recordings catalog.

The Beluga Heights buyout is understood to have been an eight-figure (i.e. bigger than $10 million) deal.Music Business Worldwide
