Industry Org

The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) is a trade org representing the interests of record companies  in the United Kingdom.

BPI’s membership consists of over 450 independent labels and the UK’s three ‘majors’ – Universal Music, Sony Music, and Warner Music – which the org says account for 85% of legitimate domestic music consumption.

The BPI promotes British music overseas through its trade missions and the Music Exports Growth Scheme.

The BPI also administers the UK’s certified record sales awards, co-owns the Official Charts, organizes The BRIT Awards and is also home to the Mercury Prize.Music Business Worldwide
