Symphonic Distribution has promoted Nick Gordon to Chief Partnership Officer (CPO) and Randall Foster to Chief Creative Officer (CCO).

Gordon joined Symphonic as Chief Client Officer and GM, New York in 2018.

Gordon joined the company a few months after Symphonic raised $4 million in a Series A round of funding.

In January 2022, the company raised $37 million in a Series B round of funding.

Gordon previously built a global A&R and client development team, recruited key executives, and helped “guide the company through one of the most competitive periods in the history of music distribution”, says Symphonic, with his efforts “netting 40% year over year growth.”

As CPO, Gordon will focus on client growth, strategic partnerships and acquisitions, as well as oversight into Symphonic’s Web3 and NFT strategy.

Randall Foster, meanwhile, opened Symphonic’s Nashville offices in April of 2019.

Since then, he has grown the footprint and headcount of Symphonic’s presence in Music City by bringing on board a Head of Client Marketing and Head of Youtube and UGC (User Generated Content), as well as other key marketing and client management positions.

Randall also oversees Symphonic’s sync licensing arm, Bodega Sync, as well as the company’s YouTube and User Generated Content Monetization efforts.

His primary goals, says the company, is to continue acquisitions and distribution deals, strategic partnerships and oversight of rights management at both Symphonic and Symphonic’s music publishing wing.

“I’m looking forward to steering the company through an exciting new era in music.”

Nick Gordon

Nick Gordon, said: “It’s been a joy to work with Jorge Brea, Randall Foster, and the entire Symphonic team to build a true powerhouse brand in distribution and marketing.

“As we see the continued consolidation of major label distributors, it’s vital for the industry to have true independent options, and Symphonic’s capabilities are now world class, capable of developing true global superstars.

“In my new role, I’m looking forward to steering the company through an exciting new era in music, with the growth of Web3, and the opportunity to form deeper partnerships with labels and even other distributors.”

“My time at Symphonic has been the most rewarding and gratifying time I’ve spent in this great industry of ours.”

Randall Foster, added: “My time at Symphonic has been the most rewarding and gratifying time I’ve spent in this great industry of ours.

“To see our Nashville operation flourish and have the opportunity to continue to build – this time with a focus on content creation, publishing, acquisitions etc is the culmination of a dream Jorge Brea and I started discussing 4 years ago.

“To say I’m thrilled is a vast understatement.”

Symphonic generated $12m in net revenue in 2021.

The company is headquartered in the USA, and has expanded in to countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Spain.

In May 2021, Symphonic enlisted Tamsanqa Ngxeketo to lead a team based in South Africa, consisting of A&R and Client Marketing services, to secure key partnerships and aggregators focused on Afrobeats, Gospel and Gqom.Music Business Worldwide
