Symphonic Distribution launches in-house record label, sleev3s

US-based music distribution / label services company Symphonic Distribution is launching an in-house record label, called sleev3s.

According to Symphonic, every sleev3s release will be “curated by genre experts” and partnered with a charitable organization that the curator and label owners feel passionate about.

A portion of royalties from each stream will go directly to the charitable organization each imprint is partnered with.

The charitable element of the releases says Symphonic “presents a special opportunity for the label, artists, and fans to contribute to a variety of causes”.

The first compilation under sleev3s is titled lwlvls, featuring artists curated by Jakub Alexander, Senior Electronic A&R Manager at Symphonic.

Alexander joined the company in June last year after 16 years at independent label Ghostly International.

The collection of independent electronic artists on Alexander’s compilation include the likes of Teen Daze, Slow Magic, Baltra, and Blackbird Blackbird.

“I want musicians to be able to donate towards a cause without having to figure it out themselves, and this is a way for us to do the heavy lifting on the admin side and for them to be able to fundraise in perpetuity with their art.”

Symphonic also extended its distribution and label services with a sync licensing division called Bodega Sync in February this year.Music Business Worldwide
