Superstar songwriter, producer and artist Tainy renews global deal with Sony Music Publishing

Sony Music Publishing (SMP) has renewed its global publishing agreement with Latin Grammy–winning songwriter, producer, and artist Tainy.

The deal extends the company’s relationship with the Puerto Rican hitmaker, which began in 2005.

The news follows SMP’s global partnership announced in June with media company NEON16, founded by industry veteran Lex Borrero and Tainy.

Marco ‘Tainy’ Masís has spent a total of 118 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Producers chart, and has worked with the likes of Daddy Yankee, Wisin & Yandel, Jhay Cortez, Don Omar, Nicky Jam and Zion & Lennox.

His credited works have amassed over 28 million monthly listeners on Spotify, including tracks for Anuel AA (Adicto, 500m+ streams), J Balvin (Agua), and Spotify’s most streamed artist for 2021, Bad Bunny (Callaita, achieving nearly 1 billion total streams).

Tainy produced nine songs on Bad Bunny’s 2022 album Un Verano Sin Ti, including the singles Ojitos Lindos and Party.

On the day of its release (May 6, 2022), Un Verano Sin Ti helped Bad Bunny to become the all-time most-streamed artist globally on its platform in a single day, with his catalog racking up 183 million Spotify streams within 24 hours.

Tainy’s latest cuts include Yonaguni by Bad Bunny, Ley Seca by Jhay Cortez and Anuel AA, Oh Na Na by Camilla Cabello and Myke Towers, and La Fama by Rosalia and The Weeknd.

Beyond Latin America, Tainy has worked with artists including Cardi B (I Like It), Selena Gomez (I Can’t Get Enough), Dua Lipa (UN DIA) and Shawn Mendes (Summer of Love).
