The final speaker line-up has been announced for one of the music business’s most future-looking B2B conference events – Music Tectonics in Los Angeles.
The 2022 edition will take place on Santa Monica beach on October 25-27, and promises attendees they will be able to “network with the biggest thinkers on music innovation, music tech, and the music industry of tomorrow”.
Speakers have been confirmed at the three-day event from music biz companies including BandLab, Spotify, YouTube Music, SoundExchange and MiDIA Research.
Now in its fourth year, the Music Tectonics Conference will also host panel discussions including ‘Wild Wild West of Web3’, ‘Gaming Is The New Venue’, and ‘Music Rights in the Metaverse’.
Presentations will include ‘Beacons of Culture’ with Spotify’s Head of Content Business Innovation and Market Intelligence, Máuhan M. Zonoozy. Zonoozy’s keynote will take a macro view of the cultural shifts that have shaken up the music industry’s foundations, as music’s role as a beacon of culture has been eclipsed by gaming and Web3.
Elsewhere, analysts Tatiana Cirisano and Kriss Thakrar from MIDiA Research will report on the “platform era:” what happens as artists and fans respond to cultural and technological shifts by flocking to platforms like TikTok and Twitch, leaving traditional DSPs and industry stakeholders needing to adapt.
Dmitri Vietze, founder and event director of the Music Tectonics Conference, said: “Music innovation is happening across the entire eco-system, which is why we have talks from TikTok, Spotify, YouTube Music, and SoundExchange, but also movers like Viberate, LANDR, BandLab, Fortress, and LyricFind.
“Music Tectonics draws on the cutting edge but also the innovations that transform the everyday of running a music business. From the Wild Wild West of Web3 to No Money, No Music, Tectonics has something for every industry pro.”
