Splice has announced a partnership with ElevenLabs to build AI-powered music creation tools.

According to a press release issued on Tuesday (May 19), the music creation platform will leverage ElevenLabs‘ foundational music models to develop a new generation of AI-powered creative tools, set to be released later this year.

Both companies said they share a commitment to building AI-based music tools that are “grounded in respect and fair compensation for artists.”

“In this second wave of AI in music, the creator comes first,” said Kakul Srivastava, CEO of Splice.

“We’re building responsible products from the ground up, and our partnership with ElevenLabs gives us access to powerful models to help shape what those experiences can be.”

“Our models deliver studio-grade audio ready for commercial use,” said Mati Staniszewski, CEO and co-founder of ElevenLabs.

“By embedding them into Splice‘s workflow, we’ll bring these capabilities directly to the artists and creators shaping the future of music.”

The partnership is the latest in a series of AI-focused moves by Splice, which in January acquired AI-powered voice production platform Kits AI.

That deal followed a partnership with Universal Music Group in December 2025, through which the two companies said they would collaborate on the “next generation of AI-powered music creation tools for artists”.

Last month, Splice launched a suite of AI-powered tools – including Variations, Craft, and Magic Fit – that compensate original sample creators when their sounds are used to generate new material.

The company says those tools combine its catalog of more than 3 million human-made, licensed samples with generative AI capabilities.

Splice was founded in 2013 and was valued at nearly $500 million following a $55 million funding round in 2021.

ElevenLabs was founded in 2022 by Staniszewski and CTO Piotr Dąbkowski.

The company initially developed AI text-to-speech technology but has since expanded into music, sound effects, dubbing, and conversational AI.

In February 2026, ElevenLabs raised $500 million in a Series D round at an $11 billion valuation.

Earlier this month, the company said it had topped $500 million in annual revenue.Music Business Worldwide
