Universal Music Group has inked a partnership with South African record label Inhoud Huis, which will give the indie access to the global music market.

Inhoud Huis said that the deal would “expand the reach of Afrikaans music further than ever before”.

Founded by Johan Vorster, Inhoud Huis is a household name in the Afrikaans music industry.

Its roster features established Afrikaans names such as Bok van Blerk, Karlien van Jaarsveld, Lianie May, Dewald Wasserfall and Leah.

The partnership was confirmed at a signing ceremony at the Universal Music offices in Johannesburg earlier this month (pictured inset).
