Sony/ATV launches JV with YouTube MCN DIVIMOVE in Germany

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has formed a joint venture with digital native media company DIVIMOVE in Germany.

The new company, DIVIMOVE Music Publishing, focuses on collaborations with music artists in exploiting rights and licenses, as well as providing composition and production support.

DIVIMOVE has signed artists such as Spain’s most successful female YouTuber-turned-singer YellowMellow, Moritz Garth and Ben Salomo – rapper and inventor of the German rap event series Rap am Mittwoch.

Since its launch in 2012 as a multi-channel network (MCN), DIVIMOVE has evolved to offer ad agency and artist management services to talent.

Now it can add music publishing to that list.

“The great success of current YouTube stars has shown that fans support these artists even when it comes to concerts and music single releases. We are happy to participate actively in this exciting market with DIVIMOVE and to develop together suitable concepts for the promotion of the artists,” said Max Paproth, Sony/ATV Germany Head of A&R.

“In a constantly changing media industry it’s not sufficient anymore to guarantee writers access to TV, radio, sync and labels.”

“Through collaboration with DIVIMOVE we can offer our publishing partners an additional and excellent access to online opportunities.

“We are really happy to be further shaping the future of music distribution and value generation together with DIVIMOVE.”

Said Brian Ruhe, Co-Founder and CEO at DIVIMOVE: “We are very pleased about the partnership with Sony/ATV Publishing Germany. The publishing company forms the foundation for our visions and plans of professional artist management,”

Added Michael Brycz, VP Artist Management Unit at DIVIMOVE: “I am convinced that we’ll enable big things internationally for our artists together with our partner Sony/ATV. The foundation of the publishing entity underlines our high quality demands for the development of sustainable careers for the rock stars of the new generation.”

DIVIMOVE currently works together with 1,750 online video creators within Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, France and Poland.

The entire talent-network reaches 1,4 billion views a month and has 110 million subscribers.
