Sony/ATV was the top Gold and Platinum publisher across the US in August, according to the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA).
Two hundred and thirty tracks received a Gold or Platinum certification in the month, including seven for hits from songwriter Sam Hunt (House Party, Take Your Time, Leave the Night On, Break Up in a Small Town all certified Multi-Platinum and Make You Miss Me certified Platinum and Gold, and Ex to See, certified Gold).
Sony/ATV enjoyed 56 certifications in the period, ahead of UMPG on 53.
In partnership with the RIAA’s Gold & Platinum Program, NMPA finds and certifies the songwriters of RIAA-certified singles.
RIAA counts both sales and on-demand streams towards its Gold (500K), Platinum (1M) and Multi-Platinum (2M+) thresholds. Thousands of songwriters have been recognized since NMPA’s program began in 2007.
The second top songwriter with 4 certifications was Halsey: New Americana, certified Platinum, and Colors, Gasoline, Hold Me Down, all certified Gold.
