Sony Music has launched a joint venture with Jonathan Master, the A&R and marketing specialist who has spent the last four years playing a key role at distribution/services company EMPIRE.
So far in his career, Master has worked with artists including Logic, D.R.A.M., G-Eazy, Cam’Ron, PJ Morton and Grammy-nominated producer !llmind.
Sony Music and Master are launching New York-based SamePlate, a JV label whose roster includes Ro Ransom, YGTUT, TOBi, Eza, Shari Marie, ROMderful and Ducko McFli.
Its first release is “Floetry,” from Ro Ransom.
Master’s team at SamePlate includes Alex Ciccimarro, who will serve as VP, Operations.
Ciccimarro previously held digital marketing positions for Republic Records and Atlantic Records. He worked on releases from Cardi B and Gucci Mane, as well as the soundtrack to “Hamilton: The Broadway Musical”.

SamePlate will be distributed by Sony‘s The Orchard globally, while RCA has the option to pair up on selected releases.

In addition to his work at Empire, Master also spent more than a decade running his own independent marketing, artist management, events and content creation company under the SamePlate name.
