Sony Music Germany acquires stake in children’s entertainment brand Tiger Media International

Sony Music Entertainment Germany has acquired a stake in Tiger Media International GmbH, establishing what the company says will be a long-term strategic partnership in the kids entertainment market.

Tiger Media has developed TIGERBOX, a speaker box that plays children’s Hörspiele – performances with actors narrating stories, which Sony Music Entertainment Germany also releases via its EUROPA label.

As part of the agreement, Sony Music will also make its kids content from the EUROPA label available on Tiger Media’s TIGERTONES streaming service by September 1, 2021.

This culminates in over 10,000 titles being made available to TIGERTONES customers, which is claimed to be “the largest content offering in the area of children’s audio speakers worldwide”.

Tiger Media offers its own streaming service, TIGERTONES, alongside the “child-friendly” speaker box and touchscreen, called TIGERBOX.

In addition, music can be purchased via physical collectables called TIGERCARDS.
