Sony/ATV strengthens European Digital and International Business Affairs team

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has strengthened its European Digital and International Business Affairs team with two promotions and one new hire.

The changes are designed to enable the team to work more closely with its international affiliates and with digital service providers for the benefit of the publisher’s songwriters.

Mika Partanen has been appointed to the newly-created position of Director, Digital Business Development after four years at PRS for Music in London where he was Senior Business Development Manager.

Jenny Lambert is promoted from Director to VP, Digital & Business Affairs International after joining the company as part of its acquisition of EMI, where she was European Business Affairs Manager.

Reflecting the greater international focus of his role, Moses Martiny is promoted from VP Digital, Europe to VP Digital, International and UK.

The London-based team is completed by David Stimson, all of whom report to Antony Bebawi, Sony/ATV’s EVP Digital and Society Relations International and UK.

Bebawi said: “We will now be better placed to share best practices with and learn more from our affiliates outside of Europe about each of their territories.

“As digital exploitation becomes increasingly important to our writers we want to ensure that we continue to strengthen our partnerships with the global digital services without forgetting the importance and diversity of national markets.”

“As digital exploitation becomes increasingly important to our writers we want to ensure that we continue to strengthen our partnerships with the global digital services without forgetting the importance and diversity of national markets.

“One of our key strengths as a publisher is the fact that we have dedicated teams on the ground who have a deep understanding of their markets.

“This includes how their local services differ, how their national collection societies operate and the regulatory context within which music licensing functions.

“Bringing all of this together will enable us to deliver even better results for our songwriters.”
