Sony/ATV Nashville signs Grammy-winning songwriter Josh Kear to worldwide publishing deal

Sony/ATV Music Publishing Nashville has signed Josh Kear to a global publishing agreement.

Josh Kear, based in Nashville, is a four-time Grammy winning songwriter known for creating legendary No.1 singles including Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood, God Your Mama and Me by Florida Georgia Line, Drunk on a Plane by Dierks Bentley, Need You Now by Lady A, and Drinking Class by Lee Brice.

He has earned several RIAA multi-platinum certifications, top spots in the Billboard Hot 100, and won numerous ACM and ASCAP Awards. He is also the only songwriter to win the “Country Song of the Year” Grammy three times.

Kear has written singles including Women, Amen by Dierks Bentley, Most People Are Good by Luke Bryan, and Highway Don’t Care by Tim McGraw, ft. Taylor Swift and Keith Urban.

Kear’s songs have been featured in countless television shows including The Bachelorette, Glee, The Glee Project, and The Voice.

His music is also featured in films such as Zero Dark Thirty and Country Strong.

In addition to his success as a songwriter, Kear plays an important role in songwriter advocacy, and joined the NSAI Board of Directors in 2019.

Recently, he testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2018 in support of the Music Modernization Act (MMA).
