Sony/ATV Germany has bolstered its A&R team with three new hires and promoted Sarah Schneider to Senior A&R and Creative Manager.

Alexandra Ziem will join the firm in Berlin from March as Director of Creative after spending four years at Universal Music label Electrola as Head of A&R.

In her new role, Ziem will be responsible for signing new authors and business partners, maintaining and extending the exploitation of rights and expanding into new businesses, whilst working closely with international affiliates.

Ziem previously worked at Universal Music Publishing Group.

Schneider moves up from her role as Senior Repertoire Manager.

She’ll continue to manage authors and sign new talent, as well as focus on exploiting local repertoire internationally.

From mid-February, Niklas Tholen is joining the creative team as A&R Manager.

He previously worked for Moderne Welt as a talent scout and marketing strategist whilst studying.

In his new role, Tholen will manage Sony/ATV Germany’s roster and scout new talent.

Repertoire and Creative Manager Julia Osterried, who previously worked at Warner Records, completes the creative team.

She joined Sony/ATV in November 2017 and is responsible for placing and exploiting works.

“To provide the most extensive creative service to our authors and business partners will always be the primary purpose of our work.”

Patrick Strauch, Managing Director Sony/ATV Germany said: “To provide the most extensive creative service to our authors and business partners will always be the primary purpose of our work.

“Next to conventional areas of music publishing, this also includes exploiting rights in the field of recordings, and developing live and management services to our authors.

“Alexandra is a proven expert in publishing and recording related businesses and rightfully enjoys an excellent reputation among the writers.

“I am very sure that she will return to the publishing businesses full of verve, esprit and success.

“Sarah Schneider has been able to boast impressive achievements in the last three years.

“She was immediately successful in placing songs and managing co-writes both locally and internationally.

“Niklas Tholen is impressively well grounded in knowledge across all genres – be it rap, pop, metal or jazz and for that reason seems to be predestined for the publishing business.

“Having all the live business experience as well as expertise on analyzing digital meta-data, he will be able to enrich and extend an important new field in our A&R work.

“During her time at Warner Records, Julia Osterried has been able to collect important practical experience in recording/digital and management segments that are extremely beneficial for the advancement of our A&R team.

“She operates very pro-actively which has already made her an important player of our team.”

“I’m very delighted to become a member of the Sony/ATV team that I have experienced as innovative, responsive and powerful during the last years.”
