Livestream platform VenewLive has partnered with Blank Canvaz Productions to host a virtual hip-hop festival featuring legendary rapper, Snoop Dogg, on Sunday, August 7, 2021 starting at 8pm ET.

VenewLive is powered by Kiswe, a video streaming technology company that has powered some of the world’s biggest online concerts over the past 12 months including BTS’ recording-breaking Bang Bang: Con: The Live virtual event last June and their two-day BTS 2021 MUSTER SOWOOZOO, which attracted 1.33m viewers from 195 countries.

The news of the upcoming virtual hip-hop event comes four months after Universal Music Group joined forces with K-Pop titans Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE) and YG Entertainment – to invest in a joint venture established between Big Hit and Kiswe last year called KBYK Live.

VenewLive, which launched in September, is the first project from KBYK Live.

When UMG’s investment in KBYK Live was announced earlier this year, a press statement said that “VenewLive is expected to secure globally renowned artist[s] …. while further expanding the platform by utilizing Kiswe’s technologies including the multi-view live streaming”.

In 2020, 1.4 million viewers in nearly 200 countries watched Kiswe’s pay-per-view concerts for a combined 4.68m hours and 537.2m interactive engagements, an average of nearly 400 times per fan.

The upcoming Snoop Dogg-headlined pay-per-view event, THE RENAISSANCE: EP1, costs $9.99 per ticket, and promises to allow attendees to “choose their own adventure and explore a range of immersive content from music to interviews to skit comedy to fashion to art”.

VenewLive also offers a “Fan React” function, that lets viewers take short video selfies to film their reactions to the performances. This will be the first collaboration between VenewLive and Blank Canvaz Productions.

Snoop Dogg recently released his 18th studio album, Tha Streets 2 Tha Suites. He also recently joined Universal Music Group label Def Jam as Executive Creative and Strategic Consultant.

Last month, Snoop Dogg announced the appointment of his wife Shante Broadus to his executive team as his official manager.

A’naz Rhome Sylvers-Cotton is the founder, CEO, head of content behind Blank Canvaz. Rhome is the son of Leon Sylvers, a member of the original Solar group, the Sylvers.

“RENAISSANCE is tearing down the boundaries of what is possible through this interactive and engaging digital event experience.”
