Sex Pistols founding member and Rock Hall of Fame inductee Glen Matlock has inked a worldwide solo deal with Universal Music Group.

The deal will see Matlock release what UMG calls “a timely and politically pertinent new album” in 2022.

UMG’s catalog division will also re-release many of his previous solo albums.

Glen Matlock is a singer/songwriter/guitarist with a highly-esteemed resume.

The original bassist and songwriter of the Sex Pistols, Matlock is responsible for co-penning some of history’s most iconic songs,  Anarchy In The UK, God Save The Queen and Pretty Vacant.

After his time with The Sex Pistols, Matlock went on to form several bands including Rich Kids (with Midge Ure).

He has collaborated with such artists as Iggy Pop, and Primal Scream, and also plays live with the likes of the reformed Faces.

Matlock has released several solo studio albums, most recently engaging legendary guitarist Earl Slick (David Bowie / John Lennon) and Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats) for his 2018 effort, GOOD TO GO.

Keep On Pushing, a track from the album was deemed Best Song In The Universe Ever on Little Steven’s Underground Garage (Sirius XM).

“I am over the moon to have now signed to Universal Music Group.”
