Rostrum Records launches parent company Rostrum Pacific to bring together portfolio of entertainment properties

Los Angeles-based independent music label Rostrum Records has launched Rostrum Pacific, a parent company designed to accommodate its portfolio of entertainment properties.

On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the label’s founder and CEO, Benjy Grinberg, has unveiled Rostrum Pacific as a strategic step to consolidate and support a range of premium entertainment properties.

Rostrum Pacific aims to serve as a “multi-faceted entertainment company”, bringing together various music brands under its umbrella including the legacy label, Rostrum Records.

MBW understands that Rostrum Pacific is set to house an acquired company at Rostrum, with more details expected later this summer.

Leading the new venture is Jonathan Partch, the longstanding General Manager of Rostrum Records, who assumes the role of Chief Operating Officer at Rostrum Pacific.

“Working alongside Benjy and the Rostrum Records team for the past 8 years has been the highlight of my career,” said Partch.

“With Rostrum Pacific, I look forward to building upon our legacy, continuing to push boundaries and creating an ecosystem where independence thrives.”

In its 20-year run, Rostrum has signed and developed artists including Mod Sun, and Nitty. The label’s current roster includes multi-genre artists such as DC The Don, Alé Araya, Lou Phelps, Fat Nick and more.

The label discovered Wiz Khalifa, who has become one of hip-hop’s most-prominent artists, and Mac Miller, who had the first independently released debut album to land at # 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 since 1995.

“As we celebrate this milestone, I’m amazed at what we have achieved since starting Rostrum Records from my apartment almost 20 years ago,” said Grinberg.

Grinberg founded Rostrum while he was working at Arista Records, a record label owned by Sony Music Entertainment.

“Today, I’m thrilled to work alongside a passionate team of industry veterans, innovators and artists on a bold, new vision for our next chapter.”

In addition to launching Rostrum Pacific, Rostrum Records plans to celebrate its 20th anniversary with a range of initiatives throughout the year. These include the release of new music releases, limited-edition merch drops and more content.

The launch of the new parent company came nearly four months after the company named Erika Montes, former Global Vice President for Artist & Label Relations at SoundCloud, as President.

Montes helped SoundCloud launch a multi-phased program called “First on SoundCloud” last year, through which the platform invests in nine emerging artists across genres.
