Rising Latin music star Mariah signs global deal with Universal Music Publishing Group

Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) has signed 19-year old Miami-born, Puerto Rican-Cuban artist Mariah (Angeliq) to an exclusive global publishing deal.

In less than one year, her songs have surpassed 25 million collective streams and counting.

The rising latin music star is signed to Universal Music Latino, and was discovered by UMPG reggaeton producer Nely “El Arma Secreta” (Josias De La Cruz) and is represented by GTS management.

Mariah has more than 1m monthly listeners on Spotify, making her the first Latin female newcomer to reach this milestone in 2019.

Her biggest hit single, Perreíto, recently received a gold certification from the RIAA in the United States and Puerto Rico.

It reached 6m streams within 30 days of release and globally trended on TikTok.

On Spotify, the hit has been featured on the Baila Reggaeton playlist and had placement on the viral charts in over 14 countries. Mariah recently released Perreito – Remix with Arcangel and Darell, and the song has already amassed hundreds of thousands of streams.

Her previous single Costear Remix with Jhay Cortez, released in March 2019, is certified Gold.

Among her songs, Mariah has collaborated on Lo Prohibido with Casper Mágico and Costear (Remix) with Jhay Cortez, Myke Towers, Casper Mágico and Ñengo Flow. She also appeared in a cameo on Luigi 21 Plus & J Balvin’s music video Siempre Papi Nunca Inpapi.

A significant social figure with a devoted fanbase, Mariah was recently awarded a YouTube button for reaching 100,000 subscribers on her channel.

She has 2.3m listeners on Spotify, 290,000 Instagram followers and has trended globally on TikTok.

Mariah is also a VEVO DSCVR Artist. In partnership with BULOVA, Mariah’s single Blah is featured in the watch brand’s Tune of Time collection campaign, a project celebrating the music industry’s most promising emerging artists.
