Rick Sackheim hired as EVP at Epic Records

Seven months on from the abrupt exit of former CEO L.A Reid, Epic Records has been on something of a senior hiring spree.

In addition to pinching Motown’s Ezekiel ‘Zeke’ Lewis as EVP of A&R, the Sony Music label has also officially appointed industry veteran Rick Sackheim as Executive Vice President.

He will report directly to Epic President Sylvia Rhone and be based in Los Angeles.

“I’ve always admired Rick’s work,” said Rhone. “He’s the consummate label executive and music mind. His breadth of knowledge encompasses not only promotion, but an understanding of what makes the business tick.

“Rick’s proven himself to be a visionary time and time again. He’s an amazing addition to the senior executive team at Epic.”
