Revelator, which provides digital IP infrastructure to music companies including record labels, distributors, and aggregators is expanding into Japan.

The company says the move marks its first major expansion and is thanks to a new partnership with PRTL, a music tech agency, headed by executive Taishi Fukuyama.

With over a decade of experience in the global music industry, Revelator says that Fukuyama has “a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing artists, labels, and distributors in Japan”.

Through this partnership, Revelator says it will leverage Fukuyama’s expertise to bring its Web2 and Web3 solutions to “a market that is experiencing rapid streaming growth and is wildly enthusiastic about NFTs”.

Revelator offers labels and artists a range of tools for managing their music, including royalty accounting, distribution, and analytics.

The company says that with Fukuyama’s understanding of the local and global music industry, it will be able to tailor its solutions “to meet the unique needs of the Japanese market”.

In January Revelator launched its NFT payment infrastructure in partnership with Stripe Inc.

“Fukuyama’s knowledge and experience in the Japanese market will be invaluable as we work to bring our digital solutions to artists and labels in the region.”
