Reservoir forms JV with American Idol producer, 19 Entertainment to sign publishing deals with contestants

AMERICAN IDOL – ABC’s “American Idol” stars Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Ryan Seacrest and Luke Bryan.

Reservoir Media has entered into a joint venture with American Idol producer, 19 Entertainment (which was originally founded by Simon Fuller in 1985).

Through the relationship, Reservoir and 19 Entertainment, a part of Sony Pictures Television, will aim to sign new publishing deals with contestants featured on the longstanding series.

Reservoir will commit to developing their songwriting with support from the company’s creative and marketing teams.

The companies will also work alongside 19 Entertainment’s label partner, BMG.

American Idol is currently in its sixth season on ABC and 21st season overall.

The show features Emmy Award-winning host and producer Ryan Seacrest and superstar judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie,

Prior winners and contestants from the show include Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, and many more. Collectively, contestants from American Idol have generated over 50 Grammy nominations, more than 450 No.1s across all Billboard charts, and over 95 Gold records.
