Republic Records has entered into a strategic alliance with Seoul-based K-Pop powerhouse JYP Entertainment.
Under this new partnership, Republic is first set to power multi-platinum selling K-pop superstar girl group, TWICE, with new music to be released worldwide soon.
TWICE’s recent single Fancy was viewed over 42 million times in the first 24 hours after its premiere, making it the seventh most viewed music video on YouTube in that short timespan.
The group’s presence on YouTube is expansive with their smash single TT currently viewed over 500 million times, the band also counts over 10 additional videos that have been viewed over 200m times, and twelve more videos with views over the 100 million mark.
With over 8m physical albums sold to date, TWICE has also sold out stadium sized venues around the world, including The Forum and Prudential Center stateside on thier most recent 2019 TWICELIGHTS world tour.
JYP was founded by artist and producer JY Park (aka Park Jin-young) in 2008.
Developing a platform for superstars, the company introduced the world to the likes of Rain, Wonder Girls, 2PM, 2AM, miss A, GOT7, DAY6, TWICE, Stray Kids, and ITZY.
Additionally, it comprises oversees subsidiaries, including JYP Japan, JYP China, and JYP Thailand.
