Ray Alba and Nathan Sheppard have been named Senior Vice Presidents of Marketing at Capitol Records, the flagship label of Capitol Music Group (CMG).
The pair will report to Arjun Pulijal, who was named CMG President in January.
Pulijal’s hiring was the first big executive move made by Michelle Jubelirer since she was promoted to Chair and CEO of CMG in December 2021.
Alba and Sheppard will co-lead the label’s marketing department, overseeing the design and execution of marketing campaigns for the full roster of artists on the label.
Both executives are based at the company’s headquarters in the Capitol Tower, Hollywood.
Alba comes to Capitol from Epic Records, where he was Senior Vice President of Publicity.
At Epic, Alba was involved in Future’s High Off Life album and 21 Savage’s Savage Mode II.
Prior to joining Epic in 2018, Alba was Vice President of Publicity (Head of Urban Publicity) at Interscope Geffen A&M Records from 2015 through 2018, where he helped design and execute publicity and marketing campaigns for artists including Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q and Rae Sremmurd.
Sheppard joins CMG from YouTube Music, where he was a Senior Label Relations Manager.
He joined YouTube in 2015, and grew to manage all label business across key label and artist partners, including new release setup, artist marketing campaigns, brand partnerships, event management, YouTube Originals and product education.
Sheppard worked on campaigns including Paul McCartney’s Live From Grand Central Station, Katy Perry’s Witness Worldwide 4-day live stream, Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour Prom exclusive YouTube film and Billie Eilish’s Artist Spotlight Story.
