Randy Wachtler named CEO of Warner/Chappell Production Music

Randy Wachtler has been appointed as President and CEO of Warner/Chappell Production Music. Wachtler replaces Randy Thornton, who has left the company.

Wachtler is based in Nashville, TN, and will report to Cameron Strang, Chairman and CEO, Warner/Chappell Music.

“Randy Wachtler is a world-class music industry veteran, who founded one of the cornerstones of our production music unit,” said Strang. “Having spent more than three decades working in this field, his expertise and wide range of contacts make him the ideal person to grow this high-margin, fast-growing area of our business.”

Wachtler is the founder of renowned production music company 615 Music which was acquired by Warner Music Group in 2010. Wachtler was then named EVP, North America, for Warner/Chappell Production Music, a post he left in January, 2012.

Wachtler subsequently co-founded the Production Music Association (PMA). He is a board member of AIMP-Nashville (the Association of Independent Music Publishers), and has served on the boards of Leadership Music and NATAS (National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences).

Warner/Chappell Production Music consists of more than 70 catalogues, including 615 Music, Non-Stop Music, Groove Addicts, Full Tilt and CPM.Music Business Worldwide
