Brandon Farmer has been named Partner at Solid Foundation Management, the management services arm of US-headquartered Quality Control Music.

Farmer, an Atlanta native and music industry veteran, will focus on the expansion of the Solid Foundation artist management roster beyond the star-studded Quality Control Music roster, the company said in a statement.

Quality Control described Farmer’s appointment as “the first big step” for Solid Foundation since the company formed an A&R-led joint venture with online audio distribution and music sharing platform SoundCloud.

Commenting on his appointment, Farmer said: “I’ve been a part of the music industry since I was young, so this is all I have ever known.

“Being born and raised in Atlanta, I watched the growth of Quality Control starting from my hometown to becoming a household name. I look forward to getting to work and couldn’t imagine being a part of a stronger team!”

Farmer began his career as part of Justin Bieber’s core team. He went on to establish his own road management presence with B. Farmer Management, where his clients included Jeremiah, Kelly Rowland, Sevyn Streeter, and Rotimi.

He then moved into full artist management with clients including rising rapper and fellow Georgia native, Latto.

Simone Mitchell, President of Solid Foundation Management, said Farmer “is a perfect fit for Solid Foundation. He fights for his clients and makes a real impact on their careers, and that’s the type of energy we’re looking for.”

“Brandon’s industry connections and expertise are a major asset. Between his new role as partner and our partnership with Soundcloud, we’re letting people know Solid Foundation is out here expanding far beyond our original ventures.”

Quality Control Chief Operating Officer Kevin ‘Coach K’ Lee commented: “We are excited about having Brandon on board. He’s a pro and is exactly who we need to continue growing the Solid Foundation roster and brand.”

“Brandon’s industry connections and expertise are a major asset. Between his new role as partner and our partnership with Soundcloud, we’re letting people know Solid Foundation is out here expanding far beyond our original ventures,” Quality Control CEO Pierre ‘P’ Thomas added.

Farmer joins a string of recent hires and promotions at Quality Control and Solid Foundation.

In February, the company appointed Brandra Ringo — who was named as one of Billboard’s Hip Hop and R&B Power Players and one of the Women in Music in 2020 and 2021 — as its EVP of A&R, while Wayno Clark was named VP of A&R. Clark immediately signed Detroit rapper Baby Money as soon as he was appointed to the new role.

Solid Foundation, meanwhile, named Lauren Walsh, another industry veteran, as EVP of Branding and Marketing. Walsh’s experience includes working with NFL, NBA, and MLB players, ranging from first round draft picks to Hall of Famers, Super Bowl Champs, and All-Stars.

Solid Foundation’s services include contract negotiation, strategy, branding and marketing solutions. The company has worked with acts such as Migos, Lil’ Yachty, Lil Baby and City Girls, among others.

SoundCloud and Solid Foundation in February agreed to join forces to “discover new talent and revolutionize artist partnerships by empowering creatives with bespoke resources, tools and access.”Music Business Worldwide
