With the Music Business UK Awards, presented by MBW, now less than a month away, PPL has been announced as the sponsor of the Administrator of the Year category – known as The Forbsie
The industry’s most enjoyable night out of the year will take place on the evening of Tuesday, November 4, at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
Kate Reilly, Chief Membership & People Officer, said: “PPL is once again proud to support the Forbsie. High quality data is vital to help ensure performers and recording rightsholders are fairly rewarded for their work.”
The Administrator of the Year award is The Forbsie in honor of Ashley Forbes, the much-admired and much-missed A&R Administrator at EMI (where she worked for over 32 years) who sadly died in 2021. Forbes herself was a previous winner of the award.
Other categories on the night will celebrate achievement in fields including songwriting, production, A&R, legal, artist management, music publishing, and recorded music. The finalists for all categories were announced recently.
There will also be a handful of very special moments, including the announcement of this year’s International Executive Of The Year, recognizing a non-British executive who has gone above and beyond for UK & Irish music in the previous 12 months.
Meanwhile, The Sir George Martin Award will celebrate an individual who has not only achieved global success in music, but also fostered a rare level of respect and friendship in the artist/songwriter community.
