Pitbull launches Sirius XM channel

Armando Christian Perez, aka Pitbull, is launching his own channel on US satellite radio network Sirius XM.

Globalization is an exclusive, commercial free channel featuring music from the artist’s catalogue, as well as live performances, exclusive mix shows and tracks by his musical influences.

“Pitbull is a true global superstar and we are thrilled to bring this private, exciting performance to our subscribers nationwide as we launch this new channel,” said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer, Sirius XM.

“Listeners across the country will also have access to Pitbull’s Globalization, the channel Pitbull is creating to showcase his music and the music he wants his fans to hear.”

SiriusXM Pitbull’s Globalization channel will launch on Tuesday, May 19  To celebrate the launch, the star will play a special invite-only concert at New York’s Apollol Theatre in Harlem that will live stream on Sirius XM.

“Launching the channel at the world famous Apollo Theater on May 19, there’s no better place to make history. Dale!”

Sirius XM offers three monthly subscription packages to consumers: XM Select (140+ channels for US $14.99 per month), XM All Access (150+ channels for $19.99) and XM Mostly Music (80+ channels for $9.99).

Pitbull’s Globalization is the latest Sirius XM channel created with an artist.

Others have included Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Radio, Ozzy Osbourne’s Ozzy’s Boneyard, Pearl Jam Radio, Eminem’s Shade 45, Willie Nelson’s Willie’s Roadhouse and The Pink Floyd Channel.Music Business Worldwide
