Ron Perry

Ron Perry is the CEO and Chairman of Columbia Records.

He is also the former President of SONGS Music Publishing, and was a partner of SONGS since 2004, when that company was founded.

Perry has signed and developed the career of songwriters and artists such as XXXTentacion, Lorde, The Weeknd, Diplo, Major Lazer, Q-Tip, amongst many others.

Ron Perry was 38 when he became Columbia Chairman in January 2018. Rob Stringer, the CEO of SONY Music, had this to say about him: “Ron is an immensely dynamic and forward-thinking executive who excels at bringing the best out of artistic vision. After his enormous success in recent years, we are thrilled to have Ron join Sony Music and lead the great team and unparalleled roster at the legendary Columbia Records label.”

Perry has several A&R credits, including the 11x Diamond single for Lil Nas X, Old Town Road.

The single ran for 19 consecutive weeks at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and earned a Grammy award as the Best pop Duo/Group Performance. The single also won the Grammy award for the Music Video of the Year.

Perry’s other A&R credits include “Starboy”, the 6x Multi-Platinum album from The Weeknd.
