CEO

Golnar Khosrowshahi is the founder and CEO of independent music rights company Reservoir.

Founded by Khosrowshahi in 2007, Reservoir now controls over 130,000 song copyrights and 26,000 master recordings.

In addition to its New York City headquarters, Reservoir has offices in Los Angeles, Nashville, Toronto and London.

Khosrowshahi is based in New York.


Golnar Khosrowshahi:  Work prior to Reservoir and education

Khosrowshahi’s roles prior to founding Reservoir included Global Brand Manager at Havas Advertising division, Euro RSCG.

She has also previously worked for companies such as Philips Electronics and MCI Telecommunications.

Khosrowshahi is a classically trained pianist and studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada.


Work outside of Reservoir

Outside of Reservoir, Khosrowshahi serves as a Director of nonprofit organization Silkroad, which was established by Cellist Yo-Yo Ma in 1998.

Khosrowshahi also serves on the board of the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA).

Reservoir’s publishing catalog includes songs written and performed by acts going all the way back to the early 1900s, like Billy Strayhorn, Hoagy Carmichael, and John Denver.

Modern day hits written/co-written in Reservoir’s catalog include songs performed by the likes of Lady Gaga, Camila Cabello, Bruno Mars, Cardi B and others.

Reservoir’s roster of active writers and producers includes James Fauntleroy, Ali Tamposi, and Jamie Hartman, plus 2 Chainz, Young Thug, and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.

In addition to music publishing, Reservoir also represents a range of recorded music through Chrysalis Records and Philly Groove Records. The company also manages artists through its venture with Big Life Management.Music Business Worldwide
