Patra Sinner appointed General Counsel at Symphonic Distribution

Music distributor Symphonic Distribution has named Patra Sinner as its General Counsel, the company’s first hire this year.

A licensed lawyer in Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina, Sinner has written on a wide range of legal topics and has appeared on news and radio outlets as a legal consultant.

She has been in private practice for nearly 20 years, dealing with complex domestic litigation and entertainment matters. She also has an experience in artist management, booking, media and radio.

Sinner co-founded Vista 22, an artist management, distribution and label services company based in Nashville, allowing her to focus on music distribution.

She is also a professional member of The Recording Academy.

“Bringing her on board at this time is crucial to the long term success of Symphonic and will further ensure that custom partnerships can be forged where both sides can benefit.”

Symphonic says Sinner’s experience gives her a broad skill set for the creative industry.

“I am extremely happy to have Patra on board as our General Counsel. Bringing her on board at this time is crucial to the long term success of Symphonic and will further ensure that custom partnerships can be forged where both sides can benefit,” said Symphonic CEO Jorge Brea.

With Symphonic, Sinner will be advising the company’s senior management team on internal and external legal matters and in managing and negotiating partner contracts such as with DSPs, industry organizations, contractors, record labels, ambassadors and artists.

Symphonic says Sinner’s role is all-encompassing in understanding every facet of what the company does and how they do it. She will provide feedback on how the company can make improvements.

She will be looking at contracts and how they touch on the function of the company’s teams from administration to marketing to finance, as well as how those teams intersect with clients and partners, the company sys.

Speaking about her appointment, Sinner said: “I am looking forward to being a strategic partner in supporting Symphonic’s continued rapid growth trajectory.

“Each of our business units is like a micro-client to me under the umbrella of Symphonic and I aim to be a vital part of providing guidance on their respective initiatives which keeps my scope of projects and contacts diverse. There is dynamic energy in what we can accomplish together.”

Symphonic offers a content management and distribution platform and provides services including global royalty collection and split payments, as well as label services to independent labels, managers and artists.

The company was founded in 2006 by music producer Jorge Brea. It has headquarters in Tampa and Nashville, and has a presence in Los Angeles, Miami, the Caribbean, Colombia, Brazil and Africa.
