One World: Together At Home has already raised $128m for COVID-19 fight – now Universal’s releasing the album

One World: Together At Home took place over the weekend – an eight-hour, cross-platform broadcast that welcomed performances (yes, sat in their homes) from the likes of Billie Eilish, Jennifer Hudson, Elton John, Juanes, Lizzo, Jennifer Lopez, Paul McCartney, Kacey Musgraves, The Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift and Stevie Wonder, amongst many others.

The event, organized by Global Citizen alongside the World Health Organization (WHO) and Lady Gaga, celebrated and featured healthcare workers – in addition to political leaders, scientists and other essential service workers –  and others on the frontline of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Global Citizen, One World: Together At Home has raised commitments of $127.9m in support of health care workers in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Some $55.1 million of that money has gone straight to to the  COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, which enables the tracking and containment of the spread of the coronavirus, as well as ensuring patients and frontline workers get the resources they need.

The money, though, hasn’t stopped rolling in – and the event’s profile is about to get a big boost thanks to a tie-up with Universal Music Group.

“With the generous support of artists, record labels and the world’s biggest streaming services, One World: Together At Home The Album will continue to generate support for the healthcare and other frontline workers around the world who are helping to save lives.”

Hugh Evans, Global Citizen

UMG has just announced that, in collaboration with Global Citizen, it is releasing the soundtrack to the One World: Together At Home broadcast as an audio album. The LP, which contains 79 tracks, is available immediately across Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify and TIDAL.

All associated proceeds from artists, record labels and streaming services will be donated to Global Citizen in support of the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

Hugh Evans, Co-Founder and CEO of Global Citizen, commented, “With the generous support of artists, record labels and the world’s biggest streaming services, One World: Together At Home The Album will continue to generate support for the healthcare and other frontline workers around the world who are helping to save lives. With this album, fans will be able to revisit their favorite performances, while those who may have missed the live event will be able to experience the community created by this historic global event.”

As of April 7, the WHO has purchased and shipped more than 2 million pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) to 133 countries. This has included more than 970,000 N95 masks, 1 million boxes of gloves, 115,000 gowns and 34,000 face shields.

The WHO has also shipped 1.5 million diagnostic kits to 126 countries, with shipments to another 10 countries. With over 7,000 staff across 150 countries, the World Health Organization (WHO) has been positioned to lead and coordinate the global response, aiding critical prevention, detection, and response efforts to help the most vulnerable and at-risk countries to prepare and respond to the pandemic.
