ole and Invinctus Entertainment Group form new publisher in Canada

Canada is getting a new publishing company: Bankable Star Music has been formed as JV between rights management firm ole and Invictus Entertainment Group/Big Star Recordings.

Bankable Star will focus on global rights collection and providing opportunities for sync and artist cut placements to its roster of singer/songwriters.

“With our growing presence in the TV and film world along with our stable of world class music talent, it just makes sense to us to be in the elite content business. ole is quickly becoming the most formidable force in the music rights management world, and is on a commendable growth trajectory,” said Invictus Entertainment Group/Big Star Recordings president Jim Cressman (pictured, right).

“They have values that align well with our culture at Invictus Entertainment Group. Bankable Star Music Publishing will be where elite content and commerce converge and we could not be more proud of this new venture.”

Added Robert Ott, ole Chairman & CEO (pictured, left): “We look forward to a successful venture with the Invictus team who have shown themselves to be an exciting, entrepreneurial force to be reckoned with. The scope of activities Invictus is active in is a natural fit for ole’s range of services and we look forward to supporting and adding to their success.”

Erin Aldridge has been named the Vice President of Bankable Star Music Publishing.

Invictus Entertainment Group offers artists entertainment procurement services, event programming, promoting, talent buying and artist representation.

Started by Alberta native Jim Cressman, who was a driving force within The Key Agency Group and then at the Cressman Sakamoto Agency, Invictus has built up a roster of leading Canadian country acts as well as a portfolio of secondary and tertiary market venue partners. Cressman has won awards for Booking Agency of the Year and Talent Buyer/Promoter of the Year at this year’s Canadian Country Music Association Awards.
