ole acquires music rights to The Expendables, Rambo IV and more

Canada-born rights management company ole has acquired both the music publishing and audio master catalogue of independent American film production house, Nu Image/Millennium Films.

The catalog includes compositions from over 100 films including The Expendables franchise (pictured), 16 Blocks, The Big Wedding, The Black Dahlia, Drive Angry, Conan the Barbarian, Homefront, The Iceman, Olympus Has Fallen, The Mechanic, and Rambo IV, among others.

Nu Image was founded in 1992 and is now one of the longest-running independent film producers in the history of Hollywood, with over 20 years and more than 300 movies to its credit.

The company currently produces, finances and handles international sales for 5-8 star-driven movies per year, generally with budgets between $10 million and $100 million.

Since launching in 2004, ole now has operations in Toronto, Nashville, New York and Los Angeles, with a catalogue that includes over 45,000 songs and 60,000 hours of TV and film music.

Copyrights under ole’s control include songs recorded by artists such as the Backstreet Boys, Beyoncé, Blake Shelton, Britney Spears, Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, Kelly Clarkson, Madonna, Michael Jackson, One Direction, Rihanna, Rush, Steven Tyler, Taylor Swift, and Timbaland.Music Business Worldwide
