Ninja Tune expands footprint in Germany and France

UK indie record label Ninja Tune has expanded its international footprint with staff on the ground in Germany and France.

In Germany, the label will be joining the Berlin office of fellow British independents, Domino and Mute, from February 2016.

Max Brudi, product manager for both Domino and Mute since May 2011, will now assume sole responsibility as Label Manager for Ninja Tune and Mute.

Brudi will oversee all Mute releases, which are distributed by GoodToGo GmbH, and will be responsible for the coordination of all Ninja Tune releases going forward, in close cooperation with the Ninja Tune HQ in the UK and Ninja Tune’s long term German partners Rough Trade Distribution GmbH / GoodToGo GmbH and Verstärker Medienmarketing GmbH.

In France, Cooking Vinyl Label Manager Zineb Benomar will assume a dual role.

Working alongside Ninja Tune’s distribution partner PIAS France, Benomar will be overseeing all Ninja Tune releases whilst also continuing her work in the same capacity for Cooking Vinyl, a role she’s held since 2014.

Benomar’s previous experience includes working as a Product Manager for the French independent record label Naïve for eight years, followed by two years working with Marianne Faithfull’s management team. She also co-manages XL-signed duo Ibeyi.

Ninja Tune’s international department in London has also expanded, with Anna-Mari Trlin joining the team as Assistant to International Manager Nicky Wain.

Wain told MBW: “Germany and France are very important territories for us, we spend a lot of time working with our partners there to set up the best campaign for our artists, having our own people on the ground in Paris and Berlin will be an important step in improving that.

“Mute and Domino have been very welcoming, allowing us to come into their Berlin operation – feels like a cooperation of likeminded labels. In Max Brudi we feel like we’ve got a great label representative to move the label forward in Germany.

Zineb Benomar came highly recommended to us by a number of colleagues and her knowledge and experience is already proving to be a great asset to Ninja Tune as we strive to build bigger and bigger campaigns within France. I’m sure they will both be great editions to our team and I’m excited to see what 2016 has in store for Ninja Tune International!”Music Business Worldwide
