Nick Bral promoted to Vice President, Creative, at Sony Music Publishing

Nick Bral has been promoted to Vice President, Creative, at Sony Music Publishing.

Bral will be responsible for managing songwriter relations and fostering creative collaboration on behalf of the company’s U.S. roster.

He will also continue to advance songwriter discovery and development efforts.

Based in Los Angeles, he reports directly to Senior Vice President Creative Jennifer Knoepfle.

Bral works with talent across Sony Music Publishing’s roster including Dan Nigro, who he helped sign to the company in 2018 with SVP Creative Jennifer Knoepfle.

Nigro collaborated with Olivia Rodrigo on her debut album SOUR, including singles drivers license and good 4 u.

 

Bral launched his A&R career at SMP, beginning as an A&R assistant for Knoepfle and Hill in 2013.

Since joining the company, he has signed talent including Conan Gray, and works closely with artists such as Wallows, Rob Bisel, Mike Sabath, Gus Dapperton, and Lindgren.

Sony Music Publishing recently partnered with non-profit organization Girls Make Beats (GMB) to host a songwriting and composing workshop for young women in music.

The second edition of the Beyond The Instrument program extended SMP’s relationship with Bleeding Fingers.

In 2020, the two establishments created a Screen Scoring Diversity Scholarship for Black composition students within the Screen Scoring Master’s Program at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music.
