Music tech company BandLab Technologies launches ‘comprehensive rebrand’

Meng Ru Kuok, CEO & Founder of BandLab Technologies.

Singapore-based BandLab Technologies, parent company of social music-making platform BandLab, has unveiled what it says is “a comprehensive rebrand”.

The company has also launched a new corporate website, which it says will serve as a central hub for its music technology offerings.

BandLab Technologies’ portfolio includes flagship social music creation platform BandLab, music production software Cakewalk, artist services platform ReverbNation, amd beat marketplace Airbit.

The company acquired Airbit in February this year, and Reverbnation in 2021. It acquired certain assets and the complete intellectual property of Cakewalk Inc. from Gibson Brands in 2018.

BandLab rebranded Cakewalk in June, and unveiled new branding for artist services platform ReverbNation last month.

In a press release announcing the rebrand, the company says that the “reimagined branding” is “rooted in the flagship product BandLab, and reflects BandLab Technologies’ commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and the boundless potential of music”.

The updated visual elements — sees BandLab Technologies use the same font and color red as its BandLab product.

BandLab’s flagship namesake platform offers a range of features such as the cross-platform digital audio workstation Studio, royalty-free sample and loops service Sounds, and the AI music generator tool SongStarter.

The app counts over 60 million registered users.

The rebrand follows the company’s recent $25 million Series B1 funding round that raised the company valuation to $425 million post-money.

That latest investment followed the company’s successful Series B round in April 2022, where BandLab raised $65 million and achieved a post-money valuation of $315 million.

Singapore-based BandLab formed parent company Caldecott Music Group in 2021 to house three divisions: BandLab Technologies, Vista Musical Instruments, and NME Networks.

Earlier this month, BandLab became the first music creation platform to support ethical AI alliance, the Human Artistry Campaign.

“This refreshed identity shows our commitment to helping creators worldwide with a new look that represents the lively and boundless essence of music and technology itself.”
