Music on Facebook & Instagram launched in 7 new European countries

Facebook is ramping up the global expansion of its music products.

Starting today (October 17) music on Facebook and Instagram will be available in seven new European countries – the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Romania and Slovakia.

Music is now available on Facebook-owned products in over 30 countries across EMEA.

Today’s announcement follows last month’s news that Facebook and Instagram music products launched in 15 additional countries across Latin America.

In Latin America, music was already available in Argentina, Mexico and Brazil.

As of today, people in these seven new countries will be able to add a song to their photos and videos on their Stories.

People will also have access to Lip Sync Live, which allows you to ‘express yourself’ by singing along to music from a variety of genres. The feature was originally announced by the social network in October 2018 as part of a wider expansion of its music offering for users on the platform.

Users in the newly announced markets can now also add videos with music to a new music section on their Facebook profile.

In addition to being able to add music to Instagram Stories, you can now also add lyrics when you add a song to your story if you live in the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Romania and Slovakia.
