Music launches on Facebook and Instagram across 15 countries in Latin America

Starting today (September 4) Facebook and Instagram music products are now available in 15 additional countries across Latin America.

Those products include Music Stickers on Stories, Lip Sync Live and the ability to add songs to your Facebook profile, including pinning songs to the top of a profile.

The additional countries are Colombia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, Guatemala, Uruguay, Paraguay, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Panama and Nicaragua.

In Latin America, music was already available in Argentina, Mexico and Brazil.

Starting today, users in the 15 new countries will be able to add a song to their photos and videos on their Stories.

To do this, they can open the camera on Instagram or Facebook, or select a photo or video from their gallery, touch the sticker icon and then add the Music sticker.

After choosing a song, you will be able to select which part of it you would like to highlight on your story, and add the artist’s name and track title.

If the song has lyrics available, they will automatically pop up. Tap through the icons to change the animation and text style, and move the lyrics around, rotate or resize it like you would a normal sticker.

Facebook has also launched Lip Sync Live, which allows you to perform and dub songs live on Facebook.

“We have partnered with local labels, music publishers and collecting societies across Latin America to ensure that the songs people love the most love could be added to their photos and videos.”
