HYBE Americas has appointed Mohnish Sani as Head of Strategy and Growth.

The role is newly created at the company, which oversees HYBE‘s business in the US, Canada, and Latin America.

Sani joins from Amazon Entertainment, where he was Head of Strategy & Operations for Creator Services.

He will be based in New York and will report to Isaac Lee, Chairman and CEO of HYBE Americas.

As a member of the HYBE Americas leadership team, Sani will focus on long-term growth across the region, the company said.

He will also work “in lockstep” with HYBE‘s strategy team in Korea.

According to HYBE Americas, Sani “will identify new growth vectors, scale HYBE’s current operations, and shape the long-term strategic direction of the business.”

The company added that Sani will “collaborate closely with the company’s various divisions to streamline initiatives and ensure they are capitalizing on the best opportunities for expansion.”

HYBE Americas said Sani has worked across business development, mergers and acquisitions, investments, and strategy during his career.

At Amazon Entertainment, his remit covered creator programs across media, commerce, and culture, according to the company.

Before that, he managed global digital licensing and content acquisition at YouTube Music.

Earlier, he oversaw strategy and worldwide commercial partnerships at Amazon Music and Kobalt Music Group, and held roles at Sony Music.

Sani has also served as Managing Partner at Flying Ventures and Camarilla Ventures.

He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and sits on the Board of Directors of music education nonprofit Save The Music Foundation.

Sani‘s appointment adds to a run of senior hires at HYBE’s operations in the Americas under Lee.

Lee, a former Univision and Televisa executive, became Chairman of HYBE Latin America in November 2023.

He has led the wider Americas business as Chairman and CEO since July 2025, when Scooter Braun stepped down as CEO of HYBE America.

As of April, the business spanned Blue Highway Records in Nashville, Quality Control Music in Atlanta, the HYBE x Geffen Records joint venture, SB Projects, HYBE Label Service, and HYBE Latin America’s labels.

In January, HYBE America appointed Ethiopia Habtemariam, the former Chair and CEO of Motown Records, as President of Music.

The company has also hired Johanna Fuentes as EVP and Head of Communications and Public Relations, and Gene Whitney as General Counsel.

The appointments have come during a restructuring of HYBE‘s US business.

In February, HYBE CFO Lee Kyung-Jun confirmed approximately KRW 200 billion (roughly USD $140 million) in impairment losses recognized in the fourth quarter of 2025, as reported by MBW.

The HYBE CFO said the losses resulted from “a more conservative and strict revaluation of HYBE America currently in the middle of business restructuring.”

Lee Kyung-Jun added that the company had “been transitioning from the management-centered business structure to a label-based integrated IP business model to reduce volatility in business performance and generate more stable profit.”

The same month, Scott Borchetta exited HYBE America, and its Nashville operation was rebranded as Blue Highway Records under CEO Jake Basden.

In March, HYBE‘s board approved a USD $100 million capital injection into its US subsidiary, HYBE America Inc.

The filing, published on South Korea’s DART disclosure system, said the purpose was to support “the smooth business operations of HYBE America Inc.”

At group level, HYBE posted record quarterly revenue of KRW 1.45 trillion (approximately USD $967 million) in Q2 2026, up 105.5% YoY.

The company credited the result to BTS‘s world tour, as well as activity across its HYBE MUSIC GROUP labels.

In the US, KATSEYE, which is signed to HYBE’s joint venture with Geffen Records, won three awards at the 2026 American Music Awards, including New Artist of the Year.

On HYBE’s February earnings call, Lee Kyung-Jun told investors that the North American restructuring “will start to produce visible financial impact in 2026.”Music Business Worldwide
