Sony Music Publishing Nashville and Domain Capital Group have teamed up to acquire the catalog of artist and songwriter Miranda Lambert.
The deal encompasses her complete back catalog of songs.
Alongside this news, SMP Nashville and Domain have signed a go-forward publishing deal with Lambert covering future works, extending SMP’s longstanding partnership with the country superstar, which originally began in 2003.
The agreement marks the latest tie-up between Sony Music Publishing and Domain.
In May 2022, they teamed up to acquire a career-spanning catalog from multi-award-winning songwriter, Ashley Gorley. MBW understands that Sony x Domain’s catalog deal with Gorley carried a price tag in the region of $40 million.
After the Gorley catalog deal, Domain and its subsidiary, Domain Capital Advisors, announced in November 2022 that they had closed more than $700 million of equity commitments for a new entertainment fund and co-investment vehicle focused on film, television, and music.
In October 2025, SMP secured a global administration agreement with Nashville’s Sea Gayle Music and Domain Capital Group, five years after Domain acquired Sea Gayle’s catalog (in 2020) and formed a joint venture with the publisher.
According to its website, Atlanta-based Domain Capital Group manages approximately $8.2 billion in total assets.
Separately, in 2022, Domain Capital Group snapped up the master recording and publishing catalog of four-time Grammy-nominated rapper and songwriter Iggy Azalea in an “eight-figure” deal.
Described by SMP as “multi-dimensional talent and one of the most decorated artists in country music history”, Miranda Lambert’s catalog includes No.1 hits, including White Liar, Bluebird, Over You, and Heart Like Mine.
It also includes No.1 country albums like Platinum, The Weight of These Wings, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Kerosene.
She’s also written on songs for other artists, including Morgan Wallen’s Thought You Should Know, Ella Langley’s Choosin’ Texas, and Ashley Monroe’s I’m Good At Leavin’, plus Luke Combs’s Outrunnin’ Your Memory and Lainey Wilson’s Good Horses, both of which also showcase Lambert as a featured artist.
SMP noted that her current Grammy-nominated single, A Song To Sing, which she co-wrote and sings on with Chris Stapleton, arrived as “the biggest streaming debut of her career”, while her additional co-written collaboration Trailblazer with Reba McEntire and Lainey Wilson is also up for a Grammy this year.
Her tenth solo studio album, the Grammy-nominated Postcards from Texas, continued her streak of 10 consecutive Top 10s on the Top Country Albums chart.
Lambert’s catalog of music will also serve as the inspiration for a forthcoming project being developed by Sony Pictures Television for Hulu.
