Ministry Of Sound Group appoints Andrew Akuffo Director, Events and Brand

Ministry of Sound has appointed of Andrew Akuffo as Director of Events and Brand in London with immediate effect.

Akuffo will take on a wide-ranging remit in the newly-created role as Ministry implements a new growth strategy following the £67m sale of its Ministry of Sound Recordings Ltd to Sony Music.

The exec will focus on driving brand equity and helping to communicate Ministry’s new focus on events, experiences and content.

This will include driving commercial brand partnerships across the Ministry Group’s portfolio.

Akuffo brings with him more than 16 years of experience in entertainment marketing.

He spent almost a decade at Viacom’s MTV International and three years leading global entertainment-based accounts at agency Cake London.

He also worked with the likes of Kiss FM and Rinse FM, leading brand partnerships and international event activity.

Akuffo said: “It’s an exciting time to be at Ministry of Sound. Twenty-five years is a long time to be at the top of your game and it’s now my job to help ensure the continued success of the brand by pushing boundaries and offering our partners the best experiences and stories to tell. We will keep creating the moments that our audience truly lives for.”
