MelodyVR teams up with Liam Payne for its first live VR broadcast

MelodyVR has teamed up with former One Direction star Liam Payne for its first live virtual reality broadcast.

The event will take place on December 19 at a secret London location with a small number of tickets to attend the show in person to be made available free-of-charge via the MelodyVR website.

The interactive music performance will featuring MelodyVR’s proprietary ‘jump spot’ technology to allow fans to choose their own location in the venue.

To experience the show at home you’ll need an Oculus Go or Samsung GearVR headset with the MelodyVR app installed and an internet connection.

Liam Payne said: “I can’t wait for this show. For those who are going to be there on the night, it’s going to be amazing… but the fact there will be people from right across the globe watching the live stream via MelodyVR makes it extra special.”

MelodyVR is currently available in the USA, the UK, France, Germany, Sweden, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium and has worked with artists including Post Malone, The Chainsmokers, Niall Horan and Bebe Rexha.

In November the company appointed the Emmy, BAFTA and Rose D’Or nominated music executive Iain Funnell as SVP Creative, Content and Editorial.

In June MelodyVR launched its app in eight additional markets and added new content from a number of British artists.
