Max Paproth promoted to pan-EU role at Sony/ATV

Former Budde Music UK MD Max Paproth has joined Sony/ATV‘s pan-European A&R team in London.

Paproth has been Senior Manager of A&R & Creative in Sony/ATV’s Berlin office since February 2013, having started his career in the music business in 2001 when he founded his own urban label and publishing company.

After completing his studies in European business he worked for Budde from 2003 to 2013, firstly as Synch Manager and Business Affairs Manager and later as A&R Manager. He served as Budde Music UK Managing Director in London from 2010 to 2013.

His current roster includes Digitalism, Moderat, Modeselektor, Hundreds, Milky Chance and a number of multi-award-winning German urban music producers.

Sony/ATV’s European A&R team, which is headed by Sony/ATV President of UK and European Creative Guy Moot, works with songwriters across Europe with the aim of allowing them to reach their international potential.

Guy Moot said: “I’m thrilled to welcome Max as an important addition to the pan-European A&R team. He will bring proven success and a real hunger to the role as he seeks out and works with European writers on an international basis. This multinational approach will also deliver direct benefits to our German roster.”

Also part of the pan-European team are London-based European A&R VP David Ventura, A&R Europe SVP Johnny Tennander and European Head of Songpitching Lasse Ewald, who are both based in Stockholm.

Paproth said: “I’m really looking forward to my new role. I will give my best to bring a benefit to the European team and the local offices in Europe. Our pan-European A&R concept is unique in the publishing world and I’m more than happy to communicate this idea to German as well as European songwriters/artists with international potential even more now.”

David Ventura added: “It is a pleasure to welcome Max on board who understands what we are trying to achieve as a European team. He will surely bring an important value and help to everybody around Europe. Welcome Max!”Music Business Worldwide
