Robb McDaniels, who has been CEO of Beatport for nine years, will step down on July 1 and move into an Executive Chairman role.
Matt Gralen, who currently serves as President and Chief Financial Officer, will succeed McDaniels as CEO, according to an announcement on Monday (April 20).
Helen Sartory, the company’s Chief Revenue Officer, will be elevated to President and Chief Operating Officer.
Beatport, which operates an online music store for DJs, producers and fans, noted that McDaniels joined the company in 2017, leading its turnaround after the bankruptcy of its former parent company, SFX Entertainment. Before joining Beatport, McDaniels founded Ingrooves Music Group, which was acquired by Universal Music Group in 2019.
At Beatport, he oversaw a turnaround that more than quadrupled revenue and grew the company’s customer base to over one million annually.
“As Executive Chairman, I will continue to be involved in the company’s partnerships and planning, and I will be a sounding board for Matt and Helen as they take Beatport to the next level.”

Commenting on his new role, McDaniels said: “Working with Beatport’s incredible team, artists and business partners has been the most rewarding experience of my career.
“I am so proud of what our organization has accomplished since 2017, and I know that Matt, Helen, and the entire leadership team will expand on the category-defining position we have built.”
McDaniels added: “As Executive Chairman, I will continue to be involved in the company’s partnerships and planning, and I will be a sounding board for Matt and Helen as they take Beatport to the next level.”
“I am honored to guide our platform into a new chapter alongside our passionate team, as we work to deliver positive outcomes for both our customers and our business.”

Meanwhile, Matt Gralen and Helen Sartory joined Beatport in 2022. Gralen has been responsible for steering strategy and financial operations, while Sartory has overseen the company’s product portfolio. During their four years, Beatport expanded its streaming offering for DJs, added products and services for artists and labels, and grew its live events arm, which hosted over 50 Beatport Live events in 2025.
Gralen said: “Beatport is a pillar of dance music culture whose focused service to DJs, artists and labels cannot be replicated.”
“I am honored to guide our platform into a new chapter alongside our passionate team, as we work to deliver positive outcomes for both our customers and our business. Robb has been a phenomenal leader and mentor, and I am excited to continue the strong partnership that he, Helen and I have had for the last several years.”
Sartory said: “From my first day, working on the Beatport mission alongside Robb has been incredibly rewarding, and as a team we’ve seen tremendous progress over the last few years.”
“I’m excited to be working alongside Matt for the next stage of the company’s evolution, as we continue to innovate for Beatport’s DJ community, our artist and label ecosystem, and the dance music industry as a whole.”

Elsewhere at Beatport, in October, the company launched Beatport Tickets, linking its marketplace with live events exclusively for the dance music sector.
Beatport Tickets allows labels, promoters, and venues in the UK and European Union to sell tickets through Beatportal, Beatport’s platform for dance music news and nightlife culture.
