UK-born Chrysalis Records has promoted Marianne Frederick to Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Distribution.
The promotion, announced on Tuesday (June 16), expands her remit across the label and its associated division, Blue Raincoat Management.
Chrysalis Records is part of the Reservoir group of companies.
Frederick has been with the business for a decade this year.
She will be based in London and report jointly to Dermot James, SVP Catalog Development and Marketing, and Alison Wenham, COO of Chrysalis Records and Blue Raincoat.
In the role, Frederick will oversee manufacturing and distribution strategy and operations across the wider group.
Over recent years, Frederick has developed and scaled the company’s physical manufacturing and distribution capabilities, introducing new stock management policies and streamlining release operations.
Frederick brings more than 25 years of music industry experience to the position, with a career spanning the UK and US independent sectors.
Before joining the company, she held senior label and project management roles at Buzzin’ Fly Records, Phantasy Sound, Koch Records and Oyster Records.
“Marianne has become an integral part of Chrysalis Records and the wider Blue Raincoat group over the past decade,” said Alison Wenham, COO of Chrysalis Records and Blue Raincoat.
“She has played a hugely important role in developing and strengthening our manufacturing and distribution operations during a period of significant growth in physical music. Marianne brings experience, calmness and professionalism to everything she does and is trusted across every part of the business.”

“Every company needs a Marianne. She is a priceless member of our team,” said Jeremy Lascelles, CEO of Chrysalis Records and Blue Raincoat.
“Her can-do, but no-nonsense approach is such an important part of making sure the wheels go round. We love her and, as they say, you can take the girl out of Brooklyn, but…”
Commenting on her promotion, Frederick added: “I’m incredibly proud to take on this new role and continue working across Chrysalis Records and Blue Raincoat Management.
“Over the last 10 years I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with brilliant teams across so many areas of the business, supporting artists and releases at every stage of the process.
“Physical music remains a hugely important part of artist campaigns and fan culture, and I’m excited to continue building and evolving our manufacturing and distribution operations as the company grows.”

Chrysalis Records was founded in 1968 and is home to recordings by artists including Sinéad O’Connor, The Specials, Ultravox, Suzi Quatro, Robin Trower and The Waterboys.
The label was acquired by the Blue Raincoat Music Group in 2016, returning it to independent status after decades of major-label ownership.
In 2019, MBW revealed that New York-based Reservoir had struck a deal to bring Blue Raincoat Music and Chrysalis into its portfolio.
The following year, the company relaunched Chrysalis as a frontline label, releasing new music for the first time in over two decades.
Its first frontline signing was Laura Marling, and the label’s roster now includes Ben Harper, Marika Hackman, Emeli Sandé, Nadia Reid and Gia Ford.
In 2023, Chrysalis signed a global distribution deal with Secretly Distribution covering physical and digital distribution for its frontline releases.Music Business Worldwide
