Warner Chappell Music (WCM) Nashville has signed a global publishing agreement with singer-songwriter Margo Price.
Alongside Price’s deal, her longtime collaborator Jeremy Ivey has signed an administration agreement with Warner Chappell, according to the company.
Price’s most recent album, Hard Headed Woman, has earned two Grammy nominations, including Best Traditional Country Album, as well as a nod for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for Love Me Like You Used To, a collaboration with Tyler Childers. Childers is also signed to Warner Chappell Music.
Price released her debut album Midwest Farmer’s Daughter in 2016, via Jack White’s Third Man Records. The album reached No.5 on Billboard’s Americana/Folk Albums chart and entered the Top 10 of the Top Country Albums chart.
Subsequent releases, including All American Made (2017), That’s How Rumors Get Started (2020), and Strays (2023), continued her chart presence in the Americana and folk categories.
“I’ve been writing songs for decades now, so it feels empowering to be seen not only as an artist and a singer, producer and author, but also as a songwriter.”
MARGO PRICE
Beyond her solo work, Price has collaborated with artists including Willie Nelson, Chris Stapleton, Mike Campbell and Orville Peck, and has also worked as a producer, most recently on Jessi Colter’s 13-track 2023 album Edge of Forever.
Recently, Price embarked on her Wild At Heart tour, with stops in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Dallas, Austin and Nashville.
Commenting on the agreement, Price said: “I’ve been writing songs for decades now, so it feels empowering to be seen not only as an artist and a singer, producer and author, but also as a songwriter. I’m grateful for Carianne Marshall and the entire team at Warner Chappell for recognizing me as a composer and writer. At the core of everything I do, the writing has always come first, and I can’t wait for all that’s ahead.”
“Margo has carved out a powerful place in music with songs that cut straight to the truth. She’s fearless in her writing, constantly pushing boundaries while staying rooted in the storytelling tradition that defines country and Americana.”
Carianne Marshall, Warner Chappell Music
Carianne Marshall, Co-Chair and COO of Warner Chappell Music, said the publisher plans to support Price across both its Nashville and Los Angeles teams, highlighting her role within the contemporary country and Americana songwriting landscape.
Marshall added: “Margo has carved out a powerful place in music with songs that cut straight to the truth. She’s fearless in her writing, constantly pushing boundaries while staying rooted in the storytelling tradition that defines country and Americana.
“Our team has been fans of her work for a long time, and we’re thrilled to welcome her to Warner Chappell. This partnership is a true collaboration across our Nashville and Los Angeles teams – especially Christina [Wiltshire] and Greg [Sowders] – as we support Margo in continuing to shape the sound of her generation.”
The signing adds Price to Warner Chappell Music’s Nashville roster, which includes songwriters and artists such as Kacey Musgraves, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Morgan Wallen and Zach Bryan, while also strengthening the company’s position in the Americana and roots space.
Elsewhere at Warner Chappell Music, the publisher has recently signed Eagles co-founder and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Bernie Leadon, as well as composer and producer Victor Le Masne.
The deal comes amid a broader period of executive movement across major music companies in Nashville.
In September 2024, Warner Music Group veteran Gregg Nadel, who most recently served as President of Elektra Entertainment, was appointed Co-Chair and Co-President of Warner Music Nashville, working alongside Cris Lacy, who has co-led the company for the past two years.
Warner Chappell Music Nashville also appointed Austen Adams as President in August.Music Business Worldwide
