Marco Alboni appointed CEO of Warner Music Italy

Marco Alboni has been appointed Chairman and CEO of Warner Music Italy.

Alboni most recently served as Chairman of EMI Italy,  and will assume his new position on July 1st. He will report to Stu Bergen, President, International, Warner Recorded Music.

Massimo Giuliano, formerly Chairman and CEO of Warner Music Italy, will leave the company at the end of the month.

Not only is he responsible for some of our greatest Italian success stories, including Laura Pausini and Ligabue, he has also been instrumental in driving the diversification of our business in Italy. We wish him every success in his future endeavours.”

Alboni began his career at EMI Italy and subsequently held posts at both Polygram and Virgin Music Italy before becoming Managing Director of independent label SKeye / N3, where he worked with French label Naïve to launch the debut album from Carla Bruni and also managed local platinum-selling act Tiromancino.

He returned to EMI in 2005 and subsequently rose to the position of Managing Director and Chairman. During his tenure, he worked with artists including Tiziano Ferro and Vasco Rossi on best-selling albums and expanded rights initiatives including merchandise and brand partnership agreements.Music Business Worldwide
