Marathon Music Group appoints James Farrelly as Global Trade Marketing Director

Marathon Music Group has hired James Farrelly (pictured) as Global Trade Marketing Director.

Farrelly, whose appointment is effective immediately, joins the company from Ministry of Sound Recordings/Sony Music UK where he was Streaming/Digital Strategy Manager.

His previous roles include senior positions at Believe Digital and the Association of Independent Music (AIM).

Farrelly will report directly to Founder & Chairman Paul-René Albertini and General Manager Pru Harris.

He will play a key role in identifying and developing global marketing opportunities within the Marathon Music Group roster across all of its related imprints, which include: Marathon Artists, House Anxiety, Mahogany Recordings, DMY Recordings, MOVES Recordings, Crux Global and Dearfach.

Farrelly will also lead global relationships, discussions and campaigns with DSPs and will develop and implement innovative, impactful, digital trade marketing related strategies for artists including: Courtney Barnett, POND, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, CocoRosie, Hazel English, Alaskaslaska, Jamie Isaac, Baaba Maal, Model Man to Afro B, Naira Marley, Skengdo X AM and a partnership with the biggest urban festival Afro Nation.

He will also become an executive board member of the Marathon Artists Labs start up incubator and accelerator programme.
