London-based Notting Hill Arts Club Recordings launches, headed up by Ewan Grant & Shabs Jobanputra

The team behind the London-based Notting Hill Arts Club and Notting Hill Academy Of Music have launched a record label, called Notting Hill Arts Club Recordings (NHACR).

The West London independent music venue has hosted various global stars at the start of their careers such as Ed Sheeran, The Libertines, Lily Allen, Mark Ronson and others.

The first artists signed to the label are Grimm Twins (pictured main), Birthday Card and Jesse Wong. Grimm Twins will be the label’s first release on November 15, distributed via The Orchard.

All three of the bands will be performing at a special launch event at the Arts Club on November 13.

The Notting Hill Academy of Music was formed as a vocational music business school offering courses for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the music industry.

Heading up the new label will be Ewan Grant, Chief Operating Officer at the Notting Hill Academy Of Music, Relentless Records and the Notting Hill Arts Club.

He’ll be joined alongside Shabs Jobanputra, MD of Relentless Records and founder of the Academy.

“Starting the label seemed like a natural progression for the business.”

“Starting the label seemed like a natural progression for the business”, said Grant.

“Over the years we have had some really special acts come through our doors at the early stages of their careers, and as we are all heavily invested in quality music across the businesses, it seemed the right time to set up the label and put out music that we can add value to and that we have a passion and love for.”

“With the label, the venue and the academy, we see this as a massive win-win for artists, employees and students.”

Jobanputra added: “The closure of so many key venues over the years has seen a need to adapt and diversify the core business model.

“With the label, the venue and the academy, we see this as a massive win-win for artists, employees and students.”
